リサーチを起点としたデザインアプローチに定評のあるIDEO Tokyoの油木田大祐さんとTakramの藤吉賢さんをお迎えし、we+の関口とともに20代デザイナーによるざっくばらんなトークを展開します。それぞれのチームのプロジェクトとの向き合い方やプロセスを徹底比較⁉︎し、これからの時代のリサーチのあり方を探ります。

A lively talk will be held by designers in their twenties, Daisuke Yukita from IDEO Tokyo and Ken Fujiyoshi from Takram, both of them well-known for their research-based design approach, together with Eri Sekiguchi from we+. We will compare in detail each team's approach and process to their projects, and explore how research should be conducted in the future.

we+が現在取り組んでいるリサーチプロジェクト「Nature Study」シリーズの中から「海」をピックアップ。プロジェクトの概要に触れながら「海」の魅力についてさまざまな視点からディスカッションします。ハワイに漂着した海洋ごみから生まれた石をインスピレーション源に人工石を制作するデザイナー・ジュエリーアーティストの本多沙映さんと、海洋教育のプラットフォームを運営しながら全国各地の小中学生とプロジェクトを行なっている田口康大さんをお迎えし、今まで見過ごされてきた海のポテンシャルや、クリエイターならではの海との関わり方についてお話しします。

The keyword of this talk session is "Ocean" which is part of the current we+ research project series "Nature Study". The discussion will present the overview of the project and explore the beauty of the "sea" from a variety of perspectives. We will welcome designer and jewellery artist Sae Honda, who creates artificial stones inspired by stones born from stranded marine debris in Hawaii, and Kodai Taguchi, who runs a marine education platform and conducts projects with elementary and middle school students across the country. The conference will focus on the potential of the oceans and the unique ways in which creators can engage with them.

物理素材や環境の特性をデザインに取り込んだ実験的なインタフェースの開発や、自然素材を扱った「Material Experience Design」を研究する東京大学大学院教授の筧康明さんと、気鋭のアーティストやデザイナーとの共同制作におけるテクニカルディレクションを数多く手がけるnomenaの武井祥平さんをお迎えし、両者の多彩な視点を交えながら、we+が現在取り組んでいるリサーチブロジェクト「Nature Study」について深く掘り下げます。デザイン、アカデミア、エンジニアリングと、立脚点の異なる三者が、自然現象とその移ろいやゆらぎから何を学び、各自の活動に生かしているのか、共通項や違いを見出すことで「Nature Study」の新たな可能性を探ります。

Discussion with Yasuaki Kakehi, professor at Tokyo University Graduate School and Shohei Takei from nomena to examine in depth we+'s current research project, “Nature Study”, while sharing our different perspectives.
Yasuaki Kakehi, conducts research on the development of experimental interfaces that integrate the characteristics of physical materials and the environment into design, as well as research on natural materials: "Material Experience Design". Shohei Takei has contributed to many technical direction projects in collaboration with talented artists and designers.
Coming from different backgrounds - design, academic and engineering - we will explore the new possibilities of nature study by finding commonalities and differences in what we learn about natural phenomena, their transitions and fluctuations, and how we integrate them into our own work.
